EBATINCA Releases a New Version of the SITS(Intelligent System for Sustainable Tourism)

EBATINCA has completed the development of the new and improved version of its emissions decision tool, as part of the Sistema Inteligente para el Turismo Sostenible basado en Ciencia de Datos e Inteligencia Artificial (Intelligent System for Sustainable Tourism based on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence) project (co-financed by the Government of the Canary Islands, STARS 2023).

This new version presents significant improvements in scalability, optimization, and maintenance. This will allow the tool to manage data from multiple companies on any of the Canary Islands. To achieve this, a complete refactoring of the data model was necessary, optimizing the database, workflows, and processes.

 Another notable improvement is the inclusion of complete traceability for the model predictions. The SICT records each generated forecast, allowing for the comparison of predictions with future real data and the evaluation of model quality, paving the way for the development of more effective models.

 Finally, as a result of feedback from companies with which EBATINCA has maintained contact, two additional improvements have been implemented: the ability to ingest and display aggregated municipal data, and a new panel with historical emissions data. This new panel allows for a detailed analysis of emissions produced and their seasonality in different degrees, for any period with available data. You can access the panel on the EBATINCA website.
